Liverpool fans are surely thinking 'who haven’t we been linked with this transfer window?' It seems as if every half decent player in Europe has been tipped at some stage tipped for a move to Anfield,  yet all the Reds have acquired in this transfer window to date is Steven Caulker on loan from championship side QPR.

More transfers are expected before the deadline at 11pm on Monday February 1st. Here are ten players that have been hotly tipped with a move to Liverpool this transfer window.

Liverpool's January Transfer Targets

Alvaro Morata
The Reds need a striker and Morata is supposedly top of their wish list. He is likely to set them back over £40 million and so the deal might not go through unless Daniel Sturridge is moved on.

Martin Caceres
Another player who is out of favour at Juventus and the Italian giants are happy to let him go. Liverpool are thought to be plotting to sign him immediately rather than waiting for his contract to expire in the summer. The transfer fee would be low but his high wages may prove to be an issue.

Andrea Ranocchia
This Inter Milan defender has been linked with a move to Liverpool throughout the January 2016 transfer window. Talks have seemingly stalled but a move to Anfield may still materialise.

Cristian Tello
The Barcelona winger was due to join Fiorentina for £6 million but apparently Jurgen Klopp is keen on the player and wants to make a last ditch attempt to bring him to Anfield.

Bojan
If Liverpool are trumped by Fiorentina to the signing of Cristian Tello this could open the door for them to make a bid in the region of £15 million for the current Stoke forward.

Shane Long
Liverpool often source from the Premier League rather than abroad. The Reds are believed to have had an £8 million pound offer turned down by Southampton for Shane Long recently. They may make an improved offer for the pacey Irish striker.

Jamie Vardy
There is much interest in Vardy but Liverpool are said to be leading the chase. It is up for debate as to whether the striker wants a move to a bigger club but if he does Liverpool may be the destination.

Joel Matip
Matip is a tall and quick centre back from Schalke who fits the profile for Liverpool. He is out of contract in the summer and Klopp knows lots about him from his time in Germany. A move is expected but may come in the summer rather than in January.

Leroy Sane
Also at Schalke this young starlet seemingly has his pick of Europe’s top clubs. Barcelona and Real Madrid are thought to be competing for his signature. This may dash Liverpool’s hopes of signing him, although the Reds are said to be very keen.

Ilkay Gundogan
Worked with Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and is a player of real quality. Liverpool fans would be delighted to capture him. Other Premier League teams are known to be interested and there will be a transfer battle which may compromise him reuniting with Klopp.
